This is Amerie’s 2nd single off of the upcoming album In Love & War in stores November 3rd.  Also my good friend Krissy from Broken Heel Diaries had a chance to speak to Amerie yesterday, check the interview out below.

HD: “Why R U?” Is the title of your first single on this album? The lyrics seem to depict a strong woman torn between her emotions of staying in a love relationship she knows has expired. How can you relate to this song?

Amerie: I really wanted to show in this song the different faces of people’s experiences. Most of the material on the album are things I have experienced in the past, things my friends have exprienced in the past. That’s why people will be able to relate to the overall content of this album. So many of my friends & I sit down and talk and go through the same issues. Less of a story and more of a moment, where you are at that particular time in your life. We all can relate to the material on the album. We’ve all been through it.
